Hudson Valley Rose Bed and Breakfast

5.0 out of 5 stars

We had a lovely time at the Hudson Rose Valley Bed and Breakfast! As Manhattanites, the cottage was a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Upon arrival, we enjoyed precious waves of fresh air and silence, as we watched a large family of white tailed deer graze behind the main house. The accommodations were very clean and fully stocked. The array of treats and drinks are sure to satisfy the pickiest snacker. For breakfast, Doug discusses options with guests then caters his menu accordingly. Since we were quite open to new dishes, Doug spoiled us with an incredibly delicious Shakshuka! We highly recommend bringing a car to take advantage of local destinations, including Storm King, Angry Orchard, and countless hiking trails. Doug and Jace, the estates’ gracious hosts, are always eager to provide recommendations and see to it that you’re well equipped with some delicious baked goods for the trip (highly recommend the mint cookies)!

I stayed at Hudson Valley Rose for my husband’s birthday in March. Jace and Doug (with their sweet dog and lovely daughter Sage) were extremely nice and caring with us, feeding us delicious meals (totally in love with their banana bread) and giving us directions to the most interesting places around (restaurants, farms, bars) The house is clean, beautiful and cozy (we had a working fireplace in the room and a bathtub Next to the window (view is great) We fell in love with the town (Middletown) and the animals and people that live there. There are so many activities you can do there (like horseback riding and apple picking and learning about maple syrup making and discovering farms where you can find exquisite local products) I highly suggest going there for a romantic gateway, very close to the city, but so far from the stress and the chaos of our everyday life. Recommended to people that need to relax and who adore nature and peace.

Thank you for the kind words, Camilla! We're so glad you chose to spend your special weekend with us and that you had a great time. The Hudson Valley is just waking up from her deep winter sleep -- we'd love to have you with us again.

Cheers,

We felt extremely welcome the moment we stepped foot onto the property. So much attention paid to details and loving touches. Food was exquisite and the overall charm of the place was fantastic. Both Douglas and jace clearly take pride in their roles as owners and it truly shows. We left refreshed and rejuvenated and can’t wait to come back!

Our visit was extraordinary. The cottage was appointed beautifully and the soaking tub a special luxury. Your arranging of the in-room massages and dinner res is especially appreciated. We wouldn’t change one thing.
